Sunset at Noosa River Mouth

This week in Noosa, there was quite the stir when a crocodile was spotted at the Noosa River mouth. Yep—right where the river meets the sea, a croc was seen gliding through the water like it owned the place (and let’s be honest, it kind of does).

While sightings like this are rare, they’re not unheard of. Noosa is surrounded by pristine natural waterways and national parks, and sometimes we get a reminder that we share this paradise with some truly wild neighbours.

A Little Too Close to Home?

When I first heard the news, my heart skipped a beat—because just recently, I was at that exact spot during golden hour, wading into the shallows with my kids to capture the perfect sunset photo.

The sky was glowing, the reflections on the water were stunning, and I remember thinking, "This is what it's all about." I was knee-deep with my camera, my kids laughing behind me, and honestly, it was one of those beautiful, carefree moments I’ll never forget.

Now? Let’s just say I might think twice before stepping back into the water at the river mouth anytime soon, however there are some solid rumours that this fella is being relocated very soon!

But that’s Noosa for you—stunning, surprising, and never boring. Whether it’s dolphins at Main Beach, turtles near Tea Tree, or a crocodile sighting at Noosa river mouth, this place is full of real, raw magic.

As a photographer, it’s those unscripted moments that I love capturing the most. Because the truth is, the best photos aren’t posed—they’re felt.
